Georgina can you come and set the table? Ugh, why had she said that she would come over again? Oh right, because they were suppose to be having a ‘special’ family meal. She had avoided it for a while, and had finally come to the conclusion, when her parents were nagging her every day that she just could not keep avoiding it, it was annoying her way too much as they kept ringing her, but now they expected her to help out. She didn’t even live there anymore! Her behaviour was often like a spoiled teenager but she didn’t really see it that way she rolled her eyes. The calls would only get louder and more frequent if she didn't at least walk into the kitchenComing mom she said as she walked from the living room to the kitchen I so do not see why you are making this dinner, its not like the whooole family is here she said. Well it was just her parents and her brother, who she hadn’t seen since he got back, but she wasn’t looking forward to seeing him. They had been close before he went off to school, but now....not so much and she had turned into a bitch. Her family had tried to see the good in her but they had given up with her.
She was so used to getting dinner on her own and then going to her job, which she had a night off from tonight but it still annoyed her. You know, I have better things to do than be around here she said rolling her eyes I have to say Georgina I do not care for your tone her father spoke up and your attitude could use some work he added whatever she folded her arms and muttered. She really could not be bothered with them and she didn’t want to make small talk with them. If they brought up the whole ‘you were such a sweet girl, what happened’ talk she would be walking right out of the doors and she would not come back if it was up to her. it was sad that she never wanted to see her family, as she had been quite close with her parents at one point, and even more so with her brother. She did miss them deep down, wayyy deep down. But she definitely wasn’t the same person she used to be, and everyone around her could clearly see that, I mean the change was dramatic so who wouldn’t see it?
You know I don’t like being called Georgina, it’s Georgie she said well you never used to have a problem with it her father replied yeah? Well that was then and this is now, get used to it she said harshly. Her father gave her a warning look. Georgie please would you go put something nice on for dinner, your brother is here, we’re having a nice family dinner she said. Did I step back into the 50’s or something? This is 2012, no one dresses up for family dinners anymore she said rudely. She couldn’t care less if her family were sick of her attitude, if they didn’t like it, why did they invite her around for dinner? She was so glad that she had her own place. That was one of the things she loved most, no one telling her what to do, she could do whatever the hell she wanted. Her parents were too strict in her opinion and she hated it. why did you even need me to set the table, you could have done it yourselves...

but now he was going to a family dinner with a completely new georgie. he hadn't seen her since the last time he had come home, which was a while ago, but he had heard from his parents that she had turned into a royal bitch. that wasn't the georgie he knew. that wasn't his georgie porgie pudding and pie. even though she hated it when he said that to her. he didn't exactly say the last part, but still. it was the thought that counted. he wanted the girl he grew up with back. he had no idea why she had changed, what had happened, anything. he just knew that he was stuck with a girl from a different dimension pretending to be his sister. and he didn't know if he was ready to take all that on just yet. he hid out in his car for a few seconds longer, playing with his tie one more time. the black button up shirt really made the light blue tie pop, and the black pants along with it made him look dashing. if he took the tie off, after this dinner he could head out to the clubs. that would be fun.
he finally got out of the car and headed up to the house. he was dreading this time to find out who his sister really was, but it was something that was going to happen sooner or later. he knocked on the door lightly and then just invited himself in, since he had lived there all his life. he walked the familiar route the kitchen where he greeted his mother with a kiss on the cheek and a good man hug for his father. he then walked over to his sister and just looked at her for a second. "do i get a hug georgie?" he asked. it was always hard to tell what kind of mood she was in, but it was even harder now that he didn't know what she was like. his hands twitched at his sides as he waited to see if he could embrace the girl he called his sister. family drama is the best drama! |

Georgie had always been a sweet girl, apart from her mood swings since she had been a teenager back then. But this was a whole new level. When she saw her brother her face turned to stone. She somehow blamed him for how messed up she was, and she was pretty messed up, her family didn’t even know the half of it; the drinking, the drugs, her night job...she kept it all secret from them and that was the way she liked it, it was the way it was going to stay. She did not want them knowing since it would just turn into a whole ‘save georgie’ campaign....she screwed her nose up at the thought of it. She watched as he went to give the rest of his family hugs and greetings, then he asked for one from her, she folded her arms and looked the other way. She didn’t really want to give him a hug but it wasn’t like she could avoid him forever. Was it really his fault she was this way? It was after she left her attitude changed, but it didn’t seem to be a good enough reason. He hadn’t really been home since going to college.
He looked him over looking all smart and rolled his eyes. Trust him to show her up, now more than ever. Their parents thought he was the perfect son, it was so pathetic. She had disappointed them though when she dropped out of school, but she didn’t care what they thought. She was her own person and now she was at least doing something and earning her own money, they had to be glad about that right? I mean at least she wasn’t still living at home and mooching off her parents hard earned money. They couldn’t even give her that. She turned to stare at him, and the stare turned to a glare. She knew she was being a bitch, of course she was, but he had just left her, and she was bitter about that, and he hadn’t even bothered to come home to see her, that was what had really upset her, he’d not bothered to visit. She unfolded her arms and shrugged. At least he had called her Georgie, then again the only people who had always called her Georgina were her parents. She hadn’t minded back then though, it worked for her.
at least you called me Georgie she muttered, and gave him a small hug. Now the rant was coming. She had done what he wanted, even though she hadn’t wanted to. you just had to show me up didn’t you, like you always do, coming in here all smart and sophisticated, kinda makes me dislike you even more she spat. You NEVER even bothered to visit! Is it a wonder why I feel this way towards you? she questioned. You weren’t just my brother, you were also my best friend. she was finally getting to say what she’d wanted to say for so long, apart from she wasn’t saying as appose to shouting it. She was angry, messed up and angry....a hot mess. You have yourself to blame for me being like this, maybe if you actually like, bothered with me I wouldn’t be like this....I would still be sweet little Georgie who everyone knew and loved she went on. She felt tears in her eyes and quickly rubbed them away. some family reuinion get together huh? Oh what a shame, Georgie spoilt it, what a surprise she rolled her eyes and looked at her parents. I did tell you I didn’t want to come tonight, I had to work she lied but you insisted so I did this one thing and its just like always, Jayden was always the one you were proud of and I’m just your messed up little daughter.

once she was done, jayden looked at their parents, who were trying to seem like they weren't doing anything, not paying attention at all. which was good, it meant that he could say what he really thought. "you wanna know why i haven't called you? i have to work all the time. i'm a doctor god dammit. i have to be on call at all hours of the day. i'm surprised i got this day off to please mom and dad. don't you understand?" she said, his temper flaring slightly, "just because you believe it's my fault that this is happening to you and that i never call you and i never do this. guess what georgina, it's your own fault. it's not mine, it's not our parents, it's yours. because your life is your life. and you obviously are too blonde to get that through your head. and guess what. guess what to everyone. i have a son. that's right. emily got pregnant and i now have a son. so just because i don't have time for you anymore doesn't mean i'm mad or angry at you or i'm avoiding you. i have shit to do georgina! and you're not the center of my universe anymore!"
he regretted it as soon as he said it. he could feel his parent's shocked looks, even though they were trying to pretend to not listen. he had a son, his name was leo. he couldn't keep it from them forever. his parents were grandparents, his sister an aunt. "and if you keep up this attitude georgie, you're never going to see him." he was honest about that. he didn't want his son to be around such a foul attitude. and yes, she was his sister, and she would probably yell at him saying that she couldn't keep her away from her own nephew, but yes he could. he was the father and he didn't want her new bitch attitude to be around. yes it was hard to change, but she could at least try and stop pulling the poor me act. he wanted so bad to just hold her and tell her he was sorry, but that would be giving in to her. that would be telling her this attitude was okay. it wasn't. it wasn't at all. she needed to end it or he would walk out of her life forever. |

Georgie at least felt better for ranting, and then she listened to him. Well he was saying all that but he still could have found a few moments to call her when he was at college. She just didn’t get it. Maybe they weren’t meant to be close anymore, she would just have to accept that and be done with it. She noticed her parents acting like they weren’t listening but she knew damn well that they were nosy bastards she muttered to herself. At least she didn’t have to deal with them everyday now, she only had to deal with them every so often when she came over. But obviously the reason she had been asked to come along today was because of Jayden. She frowned at the thought. Okay so she was being a little bit of an attention seeker. Georgie had always loved the attention, and she got annoyed when it wasn’t on her. Yes she used to be sweet and nice, but she was also self absorbed and an attention whore, which some people found really annoying...and with good reason. She was still like that now but even worse than before and it was definitely hard to deal with.
Georgie scoffed when he talked about being a doctor You never called me at college though how hard would it have been to actually pick up the phone and talk to me, or even just text, surely you’re not that busy she rolled her eyes. Did he think she was born yesterday? She wasn’t stupid. Okay fine, she got that he was busy but he could have made some effort, after a week of not hearing from him when he’d gone to school she started to act like a bitch, his parents must have told him and kept him up to date, maybe he was afraid of getting her bad mood. She didn’t care, it wasn’t a good enough excuse as far as she was concerned. He sucked as far as she was concerned. All her friends had told her to chill, and that she was being unreasonable, but she had lost most of her friends now due to being how she was now. The only people that wanted to hang out with her now were bitches and druggies, they had to stick together because no one else wanted to hang out with them. Even her best friend avoided her most of the time now.
He then dropped a bomb on them all. She couldn’t really imagine it was how he had wanted it to come out, but that was how it had come out. So now their parents were in utter shock. A child?.......son even? She was an aunt? Ok so she was a bitch and everything but she totally had a soft spot for kids. Only people close to her knew this. She was a completely different person entirely around them. Like the old Georgie. Fun Georgie. She had actually worked at the local elementary school for a little while before she got the jobs she had now, but because her attitude with the other staff was bad, she got fired. She didn’t know what to say, but the words she heard next stung and hit her hard. You can’t keep me from him she said. Probably predictable, but whatever. I’ll just ask Emily...
