obliterated might be an appropriate words to describe how aj greene was feeling at the moment. the bonfire had barely started and people were already offering him shots and mystery drinks that he took because he didn't want anyone's kindness to go to waste. of course, he had brought his own twelve pack of beer from his apartment, but he had only ran through one because a friend from school insisted that they shotgun one together. that was probably a bad idea. the alcohol was running quickly through his system and almost everything was out of his control by now. he wasn't going to throw up or anything. in fact, in his mind, he could probably stand to have about five more drinks, but the level of drunk that he was in the short amount of time was fairly ridiculous. it was his demon, his one true vice. aj didn't have it in him to deny a drink and as the night went on and the booze flowed through his veins, even the slightest resistance to a beverage offered was gone. andrew would down anything thrown his way at this point.
he had settled himself on a huge log that someone managed to push over toward the flames. the fire was raging up from the lighter fluid that some freshman decided to pour in the pit. the sand had been dug a good ways down. enough so that some drunk person could notice that it was, in fact, the fire pit and avoid it all together. the orange and yellow flames danced around the wood it was enveloping. aj was entranced by the glow of the fire as he took a huge gulp of the drink in his hand. he wasn't sure what it was. some girl made it for him, claiming that it was her signature drink at parties like this. she mentioned something about ginger ale and pomegranate whatever. it might have been a bit girly, but he was going to down it anyway. glancing in his cup, he determined three more good sips would do the trick. the liquid was getting hot anyway, making the mystery beverage a little unappetizing at the moment. not that many alcoholic beverages made at parties tasted too good because everyone overloaded them with alcohol because they wanted to get drunk.
aj slapped on the most sober face he could muster as he finished the drink up and tossed the cup into the flames. plastic shouldn't belong in fires, but he knew if he got up to go to the trash bag that was being passed around, someone would stop him and make him something else. he would be okay with his beer until the vodka, tequila, and whatever else ran it's course through the night. unfortunately, a guy from his psychology class handed him a jack and ginger. he clinked his red solo cup with the other guy and took a long drink "thanks man!" he slurred a little bit. his smile looked ridiculous because the muscles in his face were doing their own thing. he was no longer entirely in control. he turned back to the fire and tuned out for a second. the voices of people, the radios playing some popular song, and the sound of the ocean lulled him into a trance.

She joined a group of girls to dance around for the group of guys who seemed to enjoy watching. But even that got boring, and after being handed another drink which seemed to be a little bit of juice mixed with a lot of alochol, Rhiannon found herself dancing her way closer to the fire. Or maybe she was really just stumbling, she wasn't very certain. Frankly, she was too gone to care either.
She didn't know when she lost her shirt, she just had the memory of being soaked by some idiot dumping his cup down her shirt. She could still smell the alcohol clinging to her bra, and feel the dampness. She really didn't care either, she would in the morning, no doubt. But not right now. She still had the whole night ahead of her. It wasn't like she was one of the girls intentionally stripping down to nothing for entertainment. No, it just would have been a pain in the ass to walk around with a wet shirt all night. She wasn't shy anyway, so she would be just fine.
Rhi was really just focused on the fire in front of her, not the people, she already had a cup in her hands so no one was offering her more, luckily. It was almost like they wanted her passed out on the floor, or to have alcohol poisoning. She had a high tolerance, but even she had lost track of how many cups she had been handed to night.. Not to mention the bottle of Jack Daniels she had started with. But everytime she was offered something she happily took it. Then ran off to do something crazy. Now she wanted to be close to the fire, dry off what was left of her clothes, and find someone who would rather talk and have fun then drown her in alcohol.
Maybe, well, definitely maybe, she was stumbling a bit. That was taken from a maybe to a definitely when she stumbled right into someone. Not shocking since she was watching the flames not anything that was between her and those flames. In her moment of imbalance before she managed to catch herself, placing one hand on his shoulder to steady herself, she narrowly avoided spilling her drink... On him. However, it decided to splash a bit of it down across her shoulder and chest. Lovely, more alcohol for her bra to soak up. "Oh my gosh, I'm sorry, I forgot one of the most important factors of walking.. watching where you're going." She apologized, her bubbly, happy voice held the slurred sound the proved along with her mishap that she was drunk. Eh, worse could have happened.. She could have ended up in his lap.

aj was almost sure that nothing could break him from his intense concentration on the fire, but something had managed. or should he say someone. a person had stumbled and caught his shoulder, pushing him slightly forward. if he had been more in control of his body, he would have stayed completely still, given the light weight of whoever just hit him, but his muscles seemed completely numb at this point. he wasn't exactly the most stable thing for the drunk person to land on. aj heard a sloshing of liquid, hoping that nothing would land on him even though he didn't care if anyone spilled a little booze on him. what were shirts for anyway, if not to get shit spilled on them? he saw the perpetrator of the push. it was a gorgeous, and obviously drunk girl. she seemed to be missing her shirt, but aj didn't mind. it was a beach party. half of the people around him were half-naked anyway. andrew wouldn't be surprised if a third of the people here were completely unclothed by the end of the night.
he could help but laugh at the girl's comment. slurred words were funny to him, even though he had obviously been slurring half the night himself. the silly grin on his face grew wider. this would be a chance to make a new friend. he wasn't entirely sure if he or she would remember it in the morning, but at least he would enjoy a conversation with the girl right here and now. "having working legs is also an important factor." he held his index finger up and laughed at his own stupid joke. "hence why i'm sitting down." sober aj didn't possibly see how he could get even worse with words, but it seemed that drunk aj managed to exceed expectations. with alcohol in his system, he made up the stupidest shit. "pretty sure if i got up, i would fall down." he made a face before taking a huge gulp of the drink in his hand. he couldn't even taste the whiskey at this point. that was how drunk he was. once he couldn't tell how strong a drink really was, he was too far gone to be saved.
"i'm aj, by the way." he flashed his pearly whites in the girl's direction. sure, andrew basically had a girlfriend, but inebriation put that bit of information on the back burner. it was in his mind, but aj couldn't help but be taken by the girl that literally stumbled into his life. she had to be a model or something. it wasn't rare for celebrities to hang around the miami parties. aj didn't care if people were famous or not. sure, it was a little weird to have a friend followed by cameras when he was with them, but he never took their job as a factor in their friendship. he liked people for who they were as a person, not how much money they made. the light from the fire danced on both of their faces. he felt the heat radiating of of the flames, making his cheek warm. he would have offered the stranger his shirt, but he figured the heat of the fire would be enough to keep her comfortable in the cool breeze of the night.

No, handsome, attractive.. Okay, she was attracted to him. Or maybe she was just that drunk? Probably he was just that attractive. Now she felt a little less bad about running into him. She had a habit of that, feeling less bad about running into attractive people, but hey, she liked to consider it a blessing.. Bumping into people she could make into a friend, or something else entirely. Maybe she was a little bit shallow, but only at first, before the getting to know each other stuff got involved. Looks were important when you were in the public eye all the time.
She liked his laugh, the second she heard it, she would definitely make a point to get him to laugh more. If she could remember his name in the morning, that is. She was hoping she would. His response made her laugh softly and she removed her hand from his arm, her legs were still working enough to keep her standing. "Mine work, a little, if I don't walk. |
[/color]" She mused looking down to her legs then to him again. " Sitting down, smart move.[/color]" She noted moving to sit next to him and then she took a drink from her cup. Oh yes, sitting down was pretty much the smartest choice right now. " Oh my! You should definitely avoid getting up then.[/color]" she giggled, shaking her head. Though certainly it would be funny to watch him fall down. AJ, easy name, hopefully she could remember that.. Actually, she probably wouldn't even remember her own name by the morning, so it could go either way. " A pleasure to meet you AJ, I'm Rhiannon, er, Rhi, whichever.[/color]" She grinned. It would be hard not to flirt with this boy. Partially because flirting was just natural for her, but also because he was cute, and sweet, and seemed like he would be amazingly fun. Unlike some celebs, Rhiannon really didn't care about the classes or where people came from. If they were nice to her, she would be nice to them, it was as simple as that. Life wasn't about money and people with money, it was about so much more than that. She would rather have real, amazing friends than ones who were famous but would stab her in the back the moment they were given a knife. The warmth coming from the fire felt amazing on her skin. It wasn't so bad, walking around without a shirt. It wasn't too cold, though the cold breeze left goosebumps across her bare flesh. The fire was slowly wiping those out. She came out swimming around this time of night a lot, it was easier to swim in privacy when there weren't many people out. But right now, swimming wasn't a good idea in her mind. aj was glad that the girl had finally decided to sit next to him. he was finally going to have a proper chat with someone at this party. people had been randomly coming up to him and saying hi or handing him drinks, but he didn't really take much time to have a conversation. he desperately hoped that some decent words would spill from his drunken mouth, but he doubted anything would. he would most likely rant, or tell stupid jokes, or not be able to talk at all. eloquent in speech, aj greene was most certainly not. "sitting down might be the smartest move both of us have made all day." yup. another dumb comment had just spewed from his mouth. there was no taking it back, so he brushed it away from his clouded thoughts. damn, the alcohol was hitting him hard. aj was sure he would made an ass out of himself in front of this beautiful girl. there was no stopping it now though. the problems had already began to arise.
"i'll call you rhi." he started, pointing an index finger towards her. his face scrunched in concentration, making sure to glue the name to the face in his mind. "it's much easier to say right now." he dropped his hand and laughed, shutting himself up with another sip of his drink. it wasn't too cold, but he was happy it wasn't warm either. the only problem with sitting by the heat of the fire was that drinks got warm very quickly. there was nothing worse than tasting a hot alcoholic beverage. unless, of course, it was meant to be hot. like a spiced wine or something. but those were usually reserved for the winter time where hot drinks were actually called for. it was the summer now and beers and margaritas seemed to be the go to picks for poison. andrew would take whatever though. anything offered would be consumed by him.
he sorted through what seemed like a thousand topics of conversation in his mind. the haze created in his brain made his speech slower than usual and his train of thought even more sluggish than that. aj didn't know where to start with this girl. they had just met, so there were so many things to possibly talk about. "so do you not go to the university or something?" he asked, his words coming out at a turtle's pace. "because i've never seen you around before." most of the people aj knew had gone to school with him at some point. or they worked with him, like fauna and levi. he was usually good with recognizing a face and rhi's was unfamiliar to him. he would have definitely remembered seeing her around if she crossed his path before. she was too pretty to be forgotten. he wrinkled his eyes brows together, trying to see through the fog in his head to find out if he had ever seen her around before.

You really couldn't find a proper conversation anywhere. But maybe she had just found one? She was hoping so. But really she wasn't sure if she could hold a very proper conversation. Even sober she always found a way to say something without thinking, stumble over her words, or say just completely the wrong thing.. When drunk, she did all of that, and more. Oh was sitting down the smartest move? "Actually, I think sitting down next to you was the smartest move I've made all night. |

Rhi had seen tons of guys make themselves look like asses in from of her, it was something you learned to ignore. They all generally got extremely cocky and tried to show off. AJ just seemed... cute, and funny. She liked that. When he pointed at her, and she could see the concentration on her face she grinned. She really didn't mind being called Rhi, she called herself that a lot. " It's easier to say all the time!" she laughed softly. There were so many people who somehow fumbled over her name. She couldn't remember the number of times she had been called Rhianna. She couldn't even bring herself to guess what was in her cup when she took another drink, all she knew was that with each drink the warm fuzzy feelings in her tummy spread through her body more and more. With the way she was drinking it, her cup would be empty very soon, and she would probably lose the ability to even sit up straight. Which could be a good or bad thing depending on how you chose to look at it. When he asked about the university she smiled and shook her head, but the next bit caused her to put on a playfully injured face. " Now, that just hurts my poor little movie star ego!" She couldn't say it without laughing though, she had been in a few movies and shows, a few being things she wouldn't imagine a guy happily watching. " No, I don't go to the university.. I'm working, doing a lot of filming out in the Everglades or something.[/color]" She shrugged slightly, it never seemed like a big deal to her. Her mother had been a model for a huge lingerie brand, she was used to stuff like fame. But she did know for sure she had never met this boy before. aj took in the girl's smirk and every word she said. finally, he was going to have someone to sit down and have a fantastic drunken conversation with. maybe she was flirting with him a little bit? he didn't really mind. warning signs should have flashed up in his head, but the potential bright lights of a problem were clouded by the haze of alcohol. he had a girlfriend, but she wasn't around at the moment. it wasn't like he was going to do something stupid, like kiss the girl. he was just talking to her. what was the harm in that? getting to know someone was a higher priority on his list than flirting with the girl. aj wasn't the kind of guy that had one night stands and random flings. because his biological father aft his mother before he was even born, aj had the utmost respect for women. some of his friends were play boys, but aj was a gentleman if anyone had ever seen one. after seeing his mother get used by a man, no matter how pleased he was that he was brought in the world through it, he could never let it occur to another girl. granted, he has kissed a few girls when he was shit faced before, but things never got too far. and with fauna in the back of his mind, he was going to try his damnedest to not make a mistake.
"well, i kind of wanted to get up and dance…" aj slurred. "but i can't dance, so that might be an issue." he was never one to get embarrassed easily, but the boy had absolutely no rhythm in his boy whatsoever. he was amazed by his friends who were singers and songwriters because he could never do anything that artistic in his life. don't even get him started on his one friend cady. sure, she was a stripper, but that girl could dance for days. aj, on the other hand, moved to the beat of a completely different drum and pretty much just looked like a penguin making all attempts to fly when he danced. he would stick to making people laugh in other ways.
he took yet another swig of his drink, noticing that only half of a sip rested at the bottom. placing the plastic cup at his lips once again, he knocked the remainder of the drink into his throat and crushed the cup in his hand. the plastic crunched in his palm and shaped into sharp angles. andrew tossed the red container into the flames and watched it melt for a second before turning back to rhi. he was surprised when she said something about being a movie star. aj watched a lot of movies, but they were usually the extreme action films or the laugh out loud, potentially pee you pants funny movies. "holy shit, you're an actress?!" he was a little stunned. it was amazing the people he would stumble upon in miami. there was one thing he was scared of though. what if the rhi thought aj was only getting to know her because she told him she was famous? that would royally suck. "that's awesome. i took an acting class once as a gen ed." he mentioned, trying to pull away from the girl's celebrity status. "they tried making me read shakespeare." he laughed hysterically. aj hated to read. "it was a trainwreck."
