She was baby sitting her niece Sophia and she was in a bad mood and wouldn’t do anything that she was being asked to do, which infuriated her. She always kept her patience though and she knew that it was inevitable that she would have the tantrums since she was at that age. Please Evie, do as auntie Brookie says okay? she said trying to put her coat on. I’m so not in the mood for this she muttered to herself and sighed. She truly loved her niece but couldn’t deny that she was often hard work, and her father was at work so he wasn’t around to help her during the day. Today was meant to be her day off but she had been called into work last minute because one of the other waitresses was sick. She liked her summer to be at least fun but having to work meant that she had less time to hang with friends and she was less than happy about it, but if it got her money then she would go. Her brother had Sophia with an ex and now she was out of the picture he called on Brooke to help him out when he had to work. Her brother told her that she could quit, they had enough money for rent since they both lived together but she knew it was wrong.
Brooke wished that she could do that but honestly she wanted to earn her own money, she was definitely often swinging in the quitting direction whenever she got some snot faced customers who just reminded her of her parents. But her brother worked there as well so at least she had him around, she just wished she didn’t have to work. She knew that one of the reasons why Sophia was being difficult today was because she had told her it was her day off and kind of promised her a day out. Sweetie I am sorry okay? she kissed her forehead and sighed I have to work, but I will make it up to you, I promise Sophia pulled a face and got up off the ground from her tantrum next to Brooke and gave her a hug and kiss. I will make sure we have our time at the weekend okay princess? she wiped a tear away from the little girls eyes and picked her up giving her a big hug, and then put her coat on. It was sweet that her niece was so attached to her but sometimes she wondered if she should step away when it came to parenting.
Brooke dropped Evie off at nursery before making her way to the restaurant where she worked and sighed as parked and walked in. It had not been easy leaving her when she had basically held onto her legs on the floor for as long as she could. Eventually one of the staff picked her up but she had still had a bit of a fit about it.. She sighed and went to the bathroom quickly before starting on her job. Looking in the mirror she wiped underneath her eyes and pulled her concealer out of her pocket and applied it. She smiled and then went back out and began to take orders from customers and started bringing others their food. She knew that her help would stop once school started up again so she had to make the most of looking after her niece while it was the holidays, but of course she still had to work.
As she went about her jobs she saw a friendly face. Relieved she went over and smiled at them politely. She knew the people around here wouldn’t want anything less. She then went over to one table and smiled politely Heyy so what can I get you? she asked casually. | [atrb=width,140] words ,

[style=border: 5px solid #953a2f;] sorry this took forever. there are 540 words and her outfit is coming soon [/style] nicole tried to blow her hair out of her bangs, just like they did in the movies. unfortunately, she was not the main actress in a movie and ended up making her bangs worse. she frowned and pushed them away from her eyes, well her glasses which were perched at the brim of her nose. she didn't wear them often, unless she was reading or at school, so anyone who say her might have surprised to see the girl in glasses. usually, she didn't wear them work, she would have broken them in an instant. people were so rowdy and she had witnessed a few fights down at the carnival. most people who went were the ones that couldn't afford going to the big amusement park. she used to be one of them. they had money to live comfortably but not enough to take annual trips to the amusement park. especially now that most of the money went to her college education.
anyways, back to the whole glasses thing, she had to wear them right at this moment because she was in the middle of a really good book that she could just not put down. it was tiny, something a middle school kid would have found easy to read if they actually enjoyed reading, but it was also one of her favorite stories. tuck everlasting. she had seen the movie countless times and almost knew the book by heart. of course, that never stopped her from reading over again. the house was quiet, strange considering she had two very noisy aunts and an even noisier twin sister. nikki jinxed herself because at that exact moment her sister strolled in and the noise began. nicole yelled at her sister to keep it down but like always, the girl never listened to her twin. she tried concentrating on the book but it was impossible. finally, she put her bookmark in and closed it loudly. she then grabbed the bag that was hung up and headed out the door.
once she was outside, she really had no idea where to go. dozens of places where she could go popped into her head but all of them would be too busy, or too loud at least. so she just kept walking until she reached the restaurant one of her best friends worked at. now, she wasn't sure it brook was working but she had come here hundreds of times and knew that it was almost always quiet. she asked one of the workers to see if brooke was there but they were stumped so they just told her to sit at the tables that brooke usually went to. she smiled and thanked them then went to sit at the table. the good thing was, everyone was quiet. she smiled as she pulled her book out of her bag. she wasn't too hungry but if it meant being in this quiet space, she would make herself eat. god, that sounded kind of bad. anyways, she started to get into a book when she heard a familiar voice.
she turned and saw brooke helping the people next to her. "excuse me, waitress, i need some servicing now" she said loudly, in her fake mean voice.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style, background-color: #423c42;,true][cs=2] & YOU'RE NOT EVEN HUMAN ` YOU'RE JUST A LOVELY IDEA OF ONE WHO I ACCIDENTALLY LOVED AND GAVE EVERYTHING TO BECOME THE GIRL ON THE PIANO BENCH SINGING ALL OF HER TEARS - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - away | [atrb=width,240] Brooke had been on her feet most of the day with her job, picking up after the customers who just left their tables a mess and dealing with the rude customers. Brooke wanted to say that she was used to it by now, but with the way she had been spoken to sometimes, she still wasn’t surprised. Some people just thought that they were better than her because she was the waitress and Brooke was never one to be rude, she never had once said something back, oh yes, she definitely had moments when she wanted to run her mouth and say exactly what she thought, but the truth was that she didn’t dare because the moment she did, she knew that she would lose her job and she didn’t want that at all.
She went along doing her job and catering to the customers needs. Some of them were complaining, but she was used to it. Brooke usually just put on her best smile and told them that she would take their complaint up with the hostess, and then they complained even more because she didn’t talk to the manager. But to be honest, the complaints were petty and she was tired of dealing with them. She was so close to telling some of them to ‘fuck off’ but that would guarantee her automatically losing her job.
Brooke was usually the type of girl who ran her mouth when someone told her off or something like that, and having to bite her lip in the line of work she was in was so hard. Every day she thought about quitting and getting another job, a different job....a better job but she just hadn’t gotten round to that yet and if she was going to do that she wanted to find a new job before she left. She needed to sort her life out so she had her shit together.
Brooke went over to the bar to collect a few of the customer’s drinks and then she was taking their order. She heard someone shout at her and she was about to turn round and finally snap and run her mouth when she smiled as she turned her head around. She realised she knew that voice....Nicole. she turned her head back around and finished taking the customer’s order and then she went over and rolled her eyes playfully you do realise I was this close to running my mouth and probably losing my job? she said gesturing with her fingers just how close she was. However, her voice wasn’t raised or bitchy, she was calm. You’re lucky I didn’t she laughed now I’ll pretend to take your order and talk to you about the different dishes so that I can have a break from these horrible people she told her with a smile.

[style=border: 5px solid #953a2f;] this is horrible. nikkie muse sucks there are 362 words and her outfit is coming soon [/style] nicole loved getting days off from work but usually when she had plans. she was fine with staying home since it meant not worrying about kids puking on you but it was hard to do the things she enjoyed when everyone was at home. obviously, she wasn't the normal one in her family. she felt slightly creepy watching brooke so she turned her attention back to the book and feigned an innocent look after she said that out loud. "oh you would never do that, at least not to me. you love me too much" nicole said with a smile. while asher had always been her best friend, brooke was a close second. they had been close all through high school and even through college even though nicole wasn't that much of a party girl in high school. still, the girls had always had a good friendship. "and you wouldn't lose your job because i wouldn't have said anything about it." nicole added. she would have actually felt horrible if brooke lost her job because of her.
"go for it, i know how hard it is to deal with horrible people. actually horrible kids that think it's funny to ride a rollercoaster till they puke" nicole shuddered. honestly, it was gross to see puke flying everywhere because kids thought it would be fun. where they really that stupid or did they actually find it funny? she really didn't care to know what went on in a teenage kids mind. she laughed at that thought, she sounded like a parent. she was still technically a teenager herself, though she would soon be twenty. "so i heard about your party and i was wondering why i had to hear from it from my sister instead of my best friend?" nikkie said, with a fake sad face. technically, her sister only found out because she read nicole's text messages but brooke didn't have to know that.
she noticed that one of brooke's workers, or she thought it was, was about to walk past them so nicole instantly began to say "what kind of drinks do you have?" in a squeaky voice. she sucked at lying.

She had many best friends, Chels obviously being her best friend, but Nicole was definitely one of them. Brooke definitely looked out for her and thought of her as a sister, she could get a little protective at times, but that was because her sister was often abusing her good nature. Brooke didn’t mind the girls twin but she often found her a little bitchy. OK ok, she could talk.....let’s just say the girls clashed and she wasn’t Brooke’s favourite person. She’d had a go at the girl once or twice for being so controlling of her sister. She didn’t care about being blunt or honest when it came to putting people in their place when her friends were involved, she would gladly tell them how it was, it seemed the twin just didn’t get the hint which was annoying. She did not like when people didn’t listen to her, that was when she often got bitchy. She kinda hated her bitchy side at times, but others she was glad she had it so she was able to put people in their place.
Brooke let out a small laugh you really want me to run my mouth about how much I hate this job and how much I want to quit? she laughed. Then she shook her head Oh I didn’t think you would say anything she said to her. Brooke didn’t want her friend to think she would do that because she knew anyone who was her friend, would never do that to her. I meant one of my co-workers or even the customers she said with a small smile. She kind of hated some of the smart asses she worked with, who thought they were so much better than her because of....well she didn’t know why....some of the people she worked with were okay, she got on with a fair share of them, it was just the odd one that believed they were only doing the waitressing or waitering to get somewhere else and those were the people that Brooke could not stand. They weren’t going to get anywhere with the way that they acted, at least she hoped that they wouldn’t because they were so unpleasant. Ugh. She scrunched her nose up at the thought of dealing with teenagers who just rode the rollercoaster’s all day till they puked. The only upside of your job is getting to ride the rollercoasters after hours she said. Well that was the only good thing she could think of it, though she probably rather have Nicole’s job than waitressing Wanna swap jobs? she offered.
Brooke tilted her head to the side and looked confused. Well you know how I feel about your sister... she said. We don’t exactly see eye to eye, so I personally certainly did not tell her about it she said did you not get my text? she asked. She was sure that she’d texted everyone who was invited. She had to make sure that no one she didn’t want tried to get in, she had a guest list set up and a code word, if you didn’t get the text then you weren’t coming in. Brooke pouted I totally sent you a text, Nic she nodded at her. Brooke then had to keep a straight face when Nicole instantly went onto talking about drinks when one of her co-workers went passed. well it depends what you want, I’m afraid I’m going to have to see your ID if you want anything alcoholic she said and waited for them to walk passed then carried on their conversation. What exactly did your darling sister say about my party then?

[style=border: 5px solid #953a2f;] this is horrible. nikkie muse sucks there are 362 words and her outfit is coming soon [/style] "well it might be" nicole said, letting a smirk cross her lips. it was strange seeing her like this, joking around instead of placing all her concentration her book or whatever it was she was doing. her friends almost always brought out her more fun side, except during school but she didn't see much of them at school anyways. most of her classes were advanced except for a few that she had decided to take with them for fun. brooke was like the older sister she always wanted. tori was younger and could be a pain in her ass most of the time. almost always because she felt the need to tell nicole what to do and asked for favors more than one time. nikkie knew she took some advantage of her but they were sister and you really couldn't say no family. at least in nicole's eyes. not really, i imagine it enough and i would rather you not say it and get in trouble. then i would feel bad and probably beg for your job back. " nicole confessed. and she wouldn't have been embarrassed to do it. her guilt would have probably trumped that.
"even your coworkers are horrible? wow" nicole was shocked. her coworkers were some of the people that kept her sane while worker. she didn't get along with each and every one of them but they never messed with each other. nicole nodded. many of her coworkers had even had late night parties at the carnival but she had always been too chicken to go. she might have started to loosen up a little bit, more for her sanity than anything else, but that didn't mean she was ready for over-the-top stuff. her sister called her a wimp for not going all out but she couldn't help it. she just felt so...out of her element when she was at a party. correction, when she was at a party where everyone was drinking. she wasn't into drinking or drugs so she always felt like she had to be careful not because of her but because of everyone else. mostly her friends. still, a party at the carnival sounded like something that would be fun to do once she got more courage. she would probably mention it to brooke. "you can't forget the nightly parties " she commented.
brooke probably knew about them, or at least heard about them. maybe she would be able to tell nicole if they were as fun as she thought them to be."i would but i'm horrible with food. i would probably trip and spill everything on the customers, or myself. probably both. no thanks" she said with a laugh. the thought of it was both funny but it also made her grimace. she hated embarrassing herself like that. it was funny that she was actually willing to embarrass by begging if she ever got brooke's job taken away but not for her own job, well actually brooke's own job. nikkie nodded. not many of her friends got along with her sister, mostly because of the way she was able to control nicole. she told them numerous times that she wasn't that bad bit her actions proved otherwise. "come on brooke, she's not that bad. i mean, you both love to have fun" nicole said, though that was one of the few things they had in common. "yeah you did, but she got to my phone before i could, the sneaky little devil" she added
"oh, yeah let me get it for you" nicole said, pretending to search her bag until she was sure the worked was a good distance away from them."just that she couldn't wait for it" she said, hoping brooke wouldn't be too upset that tori was planning to go.

She loved that she brought the playful side out of Nicole. She didn't often see that side of her because she was so sensible, something Brooke didn't really know how to be. It was usually her friends who were looking after her and making sure she didn't do anything stupid. She wasn't stupid, it was just she made bad decisions, especially when alcohol was involved. God she really did do stupid things while drunk, she needed to cut down and not drink so much when she went out but that seemed to be too hard. awh your so cute, don't worry. I won't do it either way, I just feel like it sometimes. she shrugged.
She shook her head. Not all of them she said to her, thinking. some of them are okay I guess she shrugged. Well it was true. It wasn't like they were her friends, she couldn't really say she hung out with all of them. She mentioned the parties and Brooke grinned. Ugh, that is so the best part, you need to invite me to some one day she grinned at her. Brooke would never pass up a party, unless she knew it would be lame. She had partied enough in high school but she still didn't want to get it out of her system. She liked partying and she couldn't see that going away anytime soon, it was just who she was.
worth a shot right? she smiled. I mean I'm surprised that I've lasted this long if I'm honest. I keep meaning to look for new jobs, or maybe my brother will start paying me for all the babysitting and looking after of Soph I do. Not that I do it for, well you know...that. she shrugged, it was true, that wasn't why she did it at all. She loved her niece to pieces, it didn't matter to her whether she got paid or not, but at least if she did get paid it would mean she didn't have to work at the restaurant. She would be able to quit. Maybe she could mention it to her brother sometime.
oh I don't have that much of a problem with her, I just don't like it how she treats you sometimes she shrugged. that's all, Brooke shrugged again. I know she nodded and sighed but sometimes she takes the fun too far... she said honestly. Then she frowned slightly she went through your phone??? her eyes widened I would kill my brother or sister if they did that, not that I have anything to hide, it's just an invasion of privacy, you know? she said casually. she smiled when Nic said that she would get the ID. If she wanted alcohol, she would have served her anyway, but she knew Nic didnt really drink. She's coming to my party too? Ok... she didnt really know how she felt about that, she wasn't annoyed but she wasn't best pleased either, but whatever it wasn't Nic's fault anyway.
