[/style][style=background-color:#b3b5b2; padding:5px; width:370px; font-family:arial one; letter-spacing: 0x; font-size:10; color:#030303;] remmy smiled and once he was given the signal, introduced himself to the crowd that had been forming for some time for the dolphin show. he waited for the other trainer to introduce herself and then he began to explain the rules as he did in every show he's been in. he didn't really have a big problem speaking in front of crowds so he offered to do it. "okay, so i'm going to need everyone to wave to the dolphins so they know you are there." once the crowd began to wave, the doplhins rose themselves out of the water some and began to flap their arms, squealing with excitement as they returned their new friends greeting. remmy threw two fish, one for each to praise his water friends for the job well done. "alright, i know it's a litt hot outside, but i hope you all stick around for the whole show. you won't regret it." he clasped his hands together and waved as him and his partner went into a room, gathering all the toys and materials needed for the show.
music came on and he went on with the show, speaking when he needed, but most of the time, he was letting the dolphins be the entertainers. they were the real performers here. there was no doubt that remmy absoluteley loved his job; he was able to be with animals which was one of the things he loved most. the show wasn't long, but it was just the right amount of time needed to satisfy the watchers. he, his partner, and the dolphins all waved goodbye once it was over and he called out a reminder to the other shows around the aquarium as well and their desginated times. "have a wonderful day everyone and enjoy your time here at our wonderful aquarium!" he helped clean up then kneeled down by the edge of the side to pet the dolphins, congratulating them on another job well done.
after taking off his wetsuit and changing into something he could breath inside better, he left the dressing room, on hand shaking a towel in his hair so it wouldn't be damp. he had texted aubrey earlier to come by and watch if she could and he would take her out for something to eat. he really hoped she would come. he couldn't imagine what she was feeling, but he could tell she was hurting. he'd known her for so long that he just knew. other than his older sister and mom, she was the most important girl in his life, and to see her just treating herself like crap the way she had, was bringing him pain to. to be honest, remmy just wanted the old aubrey back. he wanted his best friend back. he made his way out to the first floor where the dolphin tank was. his show took place at the surface of it on the next floor.
he stared into the water, giving a small smile when he saw the dolphins goofying around as they swam, obviously enjoying the attention they were receiving from the other people in the area. he felt bad for hanging up on her the way he had the other day and knew he was just poking at an open wound whenever he asked her how she was, but he couldn't help it. remmy just didn't know what to do. he wanted to help her, but she woldn't budge. aubrey (wren) // 579 // HERE

WHEN YOU WALK IN THE ROOM |
[/div] Aubrey leaned against the brick of the aquarium building. She glanced down at her dainty wrist watch, awaiting Remmy's dolphin show to finish. It was one of the many things that she loved about him, his love for animals. She remembered coming to the aquarium regularly with her dad. It was their thing. He used to take Aubrey to watch the dolphin shows every Saturday morning, and once the show was finished they would go for cotton candy at the carnival nearby. After her father died, she continued the tradition, but by herself. It was even easier to continue the tradition when Remmy got a job working with the dolphins during the shows. She would sit in the audience by herself, eyes bright and watch. Aubrey eventually found it too painful to attend the shows without her father; she missed his goofy comments whenever the trainers would talk, she just missed his company in general. Eventually, Aubrey had stopped going altogether, but healed the pain by numbing herself with alcohol and whatever drug she could get her hands on.
Lately, she had really distanced herself from everyone; her older sister, her friends, and even Remmy. Especially Remmy. He was always trying to get her to talk, to tell him what she was feeling, and it drove her nuts. She didn't want to talk, she didn't want to discuss her feelings, and she didn't want to remember the accident. She was tired of people trying to push her to talk and all it did was make her turn to the bottle more often. As people started to exit the building, Aubrey knew the show had ended. After a rough phone conversation she had had with Remmy a few nights ago, she knew she needed to make plans to attempt a hang-out with him. If he was going to turn this into another therapy session, she was going to leave. She wasn't even quite sure why she was meeting up with him to begin with, but she was willing to give Remmy the benefit of the doubt. She loved him, after all. Plus she missed coming to the aquarium. She hadn't really been her in a good year or two.
She pushed her way through the crowd and stumbled through the narrow, dimly lit aisles of aquarium. Aubrey wasn't entirely sure where Remmy would be, but she continued at a slow pace, eyes watching the fish, dolphins, and other sea life swimming around her. Her eyes watered as she stopped in front of one of the dolphin tanks, memories of her father flooding her mind. When someone bumped against her walking by, she blinked away the tears and cursed them out.

[/style][style=background-color:#b3b5b2; padding:5px; width:370px; font-family:arial one; letter-spacing: 0x; font-size:10; color:#030303;] remmy continued to watch the dolphins, his stress beginning to fade slowly. when he caught some sense of movement closeby, he turned to see what it was, blinking when he saw aubrey in front of the dolphin tank. he was about to take off immediately when he saw the look on her face, causing him to pause. he hadn't seen any vulnerability in her openly for a very long time. his eyes moved to watch the dolphins and he frowned. maybe it hadn't been such a great idea to ask her to meet him here. he was just out of options lately and had no idea what he was supposed to do. all the time him and aubrey had known each other, she was there for him when he was scared and lonely when her sister had to go to the hospital. and now she was going through all this hurt and he had no idea how he could help her.
he laughed under his breath when she began to say obscenities to someone who had bumped her and shook his head. he walked over to her and lifted her chin up to him, carefully moving his fingers across the small area under her eyes where he could see some tears had been forming. he could see how watery her eyes had gotten when he watched her earlier because the reflection of the water had made her eyes gleam brightly. "you came." his hands fell and he leaned closer to her, pulling her into an embrace. he closed his eyes and held her for few seconds before releasing her. "i'm really happy to see you aub. you look great." he grinned and brought up a hand to ruffle the front of her hair gently. he had never told her this, but ever since he got the job here, he would pray to her dad in the time his shows were about to start and tell him to enjoy it.
"let's get out of here. i heard an ice cream stand calling my name in the first floor." he smiled and took her hand before leading her out of the small area. but..he had an idea of what he could do in the future. maybe..just maybe he would be able to sneak in after hours and bring her with him. she couldn't talk to people, but maybe she could talk to the dolphins. "look, i just wanted to say that i'm sorry about how i acted on the phone the other day. i just wanted to see you." he sighed and released her hand once they were at the stairs, running his hand through his hair as he began to climb. "i don't have the right to be telling you what and what not you should be doing. you're a big girl now." he chuckled and peeked at her. "although, i hope you aren't growing up too fast, because then i can't buy you an ice cream too." he figured just to have a fun time and try and make it fun for her too. he wanted to spend time with aubrey and now that he finally could, he wasn't going to screw it up by bringing up how she'd changed.

WHEN YOU WALK IN THE ROOM |
[/div] The crowds grew smaller and smaller as most of the people cleared out of the aquarium. Aside from the odd couple with their small children watching the dolphins, Aubrey was only aware of herself. It was all she really wanted to be aware about, especially since she couldn't stop her eyes from watering. She put her hand up on the glass tank, running her fingers slowly across. When she heard someone coming behind her, she pulled her hand away and tried to blink away the tears. When she turned, she was faced with Remmy. He heart sank, as she looked up at him. She nagged herself, silently about never wanting to spend time with him. Her next biggest fear was losing him. She knew she didn't deserve to have Remmy still wait on her, but he had always been there for her. No matter what. It was another thing she loved about him. She felt her cheeks get hot when he reached up to wipe her eyes and a small smile formed across her lips. He had seen her cry many times before, but something about this exact moment made her feel embarrassed. "You came." He said as he let his hands fall to his sides. She smiled again, shyly staring down at her feet as she picked at her fingernails.
"Of course I came," she answered, looking back up at him. He pulled her into an embrace and she closed her eyes, embracing him back. She had missed him lately. He smelled the same as he always did, which made her feel worse inside. "I'm really happy to see you Aub. You look great." He had said as they pulled away from each other. His grin was contagious, and made her grin back. He ruffled the front of her hair with his hand and she playfully swatted him away, all the while a grin still plastered on her mouth. This was what she missed. It almost made her forget why they had started to drift apart. "Let's get out of here. I heard an ice cream stand calling my name on the first floor."
Her face lit up as he took her hand and led her toward said ice cream stand. "Look, I'm sorry about the way I acted on the phone the other day. I just wanted to see you." They stopped at the staircase and he let go of her hand. She felt tingly as he ran his hands through his hair, following behind him as they climbed the stairs. He went on to apologize for trying to tell her what to do and added in a comment about her being a big girl now. "Well, I guess I could take the ice cream offer," she teased, playfully pushing at him with her elbow. "And I'm sorry too, I've been sort of a jerk lately." she trailed off, not wanting to get into it again. All she wanted right now was some ice cream and some small conversation. She was curious as to what Remmy had been up to lately. "So, what have you been up to lately? she asked, leaning the conversation away from herself.

[/style][style=background-color:#b3b5b2; padding:5px; width:370px; font-family:arial one; letter-spacing: 0x; font-size:10; color:#030303;] okay, remmy had no idea what it was, but something about aubrey was unbearably cute today. the way she'd acted shy was very unusual, but he couldn't help but love it. maybe she'd just always been this way and he hadn't noticed until now because they had been drifting apart. to be honest, he had been prepared to wait around an hour or even two before calling her and seeing that she wasn't coming. he just didn't know what to think and feel about this new aubrey that had come out. he knew she couldn't be going through an easy time, but he just thought she was taking things too far. if she would only let him, he would hold her until she cried all she needed to in order to be okay. but, right here and right now, he was with the side of her that was his best friend. he smiled. this was what he'd wanted for some time now.
when she'd pushed him jokingly with her elbow, he chuckled and looked at her with a kind smile, shaking his head when she'd apologized. "you've always been quite the jerk, so it's no different." he laughed, obviously just messing around with her. he understood. he got why she was so lost. he'd be the same way if anything ever happened to his older sister. having been asked about what he'd been up to lately, he leaned against the rail of the staircase and looked down at her. "hrm..." he looked to some people who were heading towards the stairs and figured he shouldn't just be standing in the middle. he took her hand as he had before and began to lead her upstairs.
"i guess i've just been working. even when i don't have shows, i come and help clean the tanks the fish are in and stuff." he shrugged, not really finding his life too exciting, causing him to smile. "i go to the animal shelter when i'm off of work to help around and check on all the animals." he nodded, smiling brighter when he took sight of the ice cream stands. dip n dots were his favorite. he laughed and began to pull her along with him faster, the eagerness that flowed out of him similar to a childs. he waved his hand, knowing the worker because he was a very valued customer. "Larry! The usual!" he laughed and grinned, looking to aubrey. "and you? what have you been up to lately?" he began to pull out his wallet, so he could pay for them. "what flavor would you like, princess?"

WHEN YOU WALK IN THE ROOM |
[/div] As much as she hated to admit that she was enjoying herself right now, Aubrey couldn’t help but feel giddy inside. It may have had something to do with the fact that she hadn’t been drunk in about two days, but today she was actually in a good mood. Being at the aquarium, the place she had spent some many years visiting with her father, getting ice cream with Remmy made her feel good. She would never say it aloud, nor would she ever admit to even thinking about it, but Aubrey was happy. She was really hoping that if they kept their conversation to a minimum that she might even be able to continue enjoying the rest of the day.
“You’ve always been quite the jerk, so it’s no different.” Aubrey stuck her tongue out at him, followed by a mock frown. She knew he was only teasing, but it still stung a little. It stung because he was technically telling the truth. She had been a jerk, especially to Remmy. After the accident and her sister taking off on her, Remmy was the only one who had actually been there for her. All she had done was push him away.
When he stopped walking to lean against the staircase railing, Aubrey stopped and looked back at him. A small smile played on her lips as he told her about work. When they spotted people coming toward the stairs, Remmy took her hand and they continued to the ice cream stand. He talked about his volunteer work and Aubrey kept smiling. She hadn’t realized how much she actually missed her father until the ice cream stand came into clear view. It was exactly how she’d remembered it; the only thing that had changed was the employee working behind the counter. She slowly followed behind Remmy, stopping just behind him as he ordered his usual.
“And you? What have you been up to lately? What flavour would you like, princess?” Aubrey started to shake her head. She couldn’t be here; right now she wanted nothing more than to run home and drink the vodka bottle she had bought yesterday. “Look, Rem, I can’t do this,” she stuttered, her words barely louder than a whisper. She knew she probably sounded crazy to everyone around them, even to Remmy. But she needed to leave the aquarium. She locked eyes with Remmy, “I need to go.” With that, she spun around and darted back toward the same way she had come in.

notes, decided to spruce things up a bit and have aubrey dart out all crazy like!

[/style][style=background-color:#b3b5b2; padding:5px; width:370px; font-family:arial one; letter-spacing: 0x; font-size:10; color:#030303;] there was smething that remmy had been beginning to lose for some time in this friendship of his and aubrey's, against his better judgement. but, it was starting to burn up again withing him as the time with aubrey only continued. he was beginning to have hope again. he had hope in her, that she might get better and come back to the aubrey she had been. he had hope for himself, that he ay be able to help her out of this hard time she was suffering through. and most importantly, he had hope for them. hope that the connection they had previously, a friendship he'd never want to be severed, was going to start going back to the way it was.
remmy looked at aubtry for a moment and just admired her. he had known she was pretty, but he had not ever realized just how pretty she was. he figured he was only thinking this was because it had been a while since he saw her. she was different from last time too, most likely because right now she was actually out doing something other than partying and drinking her sorrows away. he hated that so much. he just could not stand to see her pushed so far that she felt the need to do that in order to survive all she was going through. he looked down to her, waiting to hear what it was that she wanted to get from the ice cream stand. when she began to shake her head, he turned to look at the man behind the cart, who was giving him a questioning look, then gave his attention back to aubrey.
something about the way her face twisted made remmy step closer, extending a hand slowly to rest upon her arm, yet, before it was ever given the chance to reach her, he could only watch her back as she hurried off. he stayed there, simply taken off guard. he hadn't known what it was he did. everything had seemed to be going good. he looked at the ice cream guy and gave a small smile. "uh.." he handed him the money, hurrying off. "keep the change!" he called off, jogging over towards aubrey. once he was in reach, his fingers around her arm gently, stopping her from going further. "you can't just do that, aub." he looked around and his hand moved down to grab hers, pulling her the rest of the way out before leading her off the side quickly, ihs hands at her shoulder now as he looked down at her. "talk to me." slowly, he bent down, taking her hands in his as he looked up to her. "you're my best friend, you can't just keep doing this to me."

WHEN YOU WALK IN THE ROOM |
[/div] Aubrey tore through the small crowds of people littering her path. She was moving at a quick pace, her feet briskly stepping one in front of the other as she focused on getting out. Her motivation was the rotating door ahead and the 26-er of vodka she had in her freezer at her apartment. She blinked hard, trying to steady her breathing when she felt someone gently grip onto her arm. Her eyes had started to fill with tears, but as she was held to a stop just before the door, she closed her eyes before turning to face the person whom had grabbed her.
A small part of her had hoped he would chase after her, but now that he was standing here in front of her, she wished he hadn’t followed her. She didn’t want to be emotional right now, not only in front of the public, but in front of Remmy. All she wanted right now was to be alone in her apartment feeling sorry for herself, drowning in vodka. She made eye contact with Remmy as he spoke. He grabbed her hand and pulled her the rest of the way. Aubrey wanted to jerk her hands away and continue her pursuit, but she let him drag her off to the side.
Remmy always made it hard for Aubrey to get mad at him. After everything their friendship had been through lately, he stuck by her. Through her mood swings, her drunken banter, and her ignorance. Aubrey slumped against the wall and tried to avoid looking him in the eye. “Talk to me,” he had said. There were so many things that Aubrey wanted to tell him, to talk to him about, but the pain that welled in her stomach whenever she thought about her father prevented her from saying anything. She was scared; scared to move on for fear that she would forget all the things about her father.
She didn’t want to cry right now. To busy herself, she chewed on her bottom lip. Remmy bent down and took her hands, “You’re my best friend, and you can’t keep doing this to me.” She slid down to the ground, so that she was sitting in front of him. She left her hands in his, not wanting him to leave anymore. Aubrey stared at him and then pushed herself into his arms, and embraced him in a hug. “I’m sorry,” she whispered, choking back a sob. “It’s just; I’m scared to move on from it.” She still had never managed to say the words out loud, that he father was dead.
