clicking the red x on the top corner of the screen, ashley closed down the computer that she was sitting at. sitting in her small trailer, she stood up. she looked in the living room / dining room / kitchen and then shrugged. heading into her bedroom she tore open the closet doors and ripped through the clothes till she pulled out an outfit for tonight. how was it that out of pure boredom she managed to get a date to go get drinks? she was that good. slipping on the white dress she slid into her heels and ran her red colored finger nails through her hair. she smiled in the mirror, strutting over to it. she reapplied the red lip stick that laced her lips. puckering them in the mirror she made a kiss face and grabbed her black clutch, throwing the lip stick inside of it. she turned off the lights in the room and was soon back in the living room staring at the clock, she didnt want to show up early to the bar and wind up looking like a nerd that had no friends, so she simply sat on her sofa and waited another five ten minutes.
slipping off the couch she tucked her phone into her purse and her keys in her hand. locking the door behind her she stepped down the three steps and into the gravel. her heels crunched under her as she stepped to her piece of crap honda. slidding into the drivers seat she put the key in the ignition and the engine backfired, halted, sputtered and soon started. even though she was a mechanic, she had a hard time fixing her own piece of crap. turning on the radio her stereo's bumped in the tune with the song. she drove like a mad man as if she was gonna be late. heading south on the highway she stopped at every red light and blew every yellow light possible.
pulling into the bar she stopped. this was adam's bar. why she agreed to come here was beyond her. she hadnt seen or spoken to adam, without arguing with him in a few weeks. the last time they spoke he punched her living room wall and walked out. letting out a sigh she swallowed her fear away with a loud gulp and pushed herself to get out of the car. locking it behind her, with her phone and purse inside she headed into the bar a fter a moment of self motivation. the bar smelt of alcohol, sweat and regret. she let out a cough as someone bumped into her. she pulled out a cigarette from her bra as wel as the lighter she hid. lighting it she headed over to an empty table. continuing to smoke she looked down at the table then back up.
staring at the clock ashley let out a groan, she had been stood up. it had been at least a half hour since she arrived at the bar and her gentleman caller was no where to be found, oh well, his loss. ordering a round of shots, ashley downed them followed by a beer and a martini. on her second beer the room was blurring and that was the way she liked it. don't know what you need , Ok. So it hand't been the smartest thing, and he still had the bruises on his knuckles to prove it, absent-mindedly clenching his fist, a dull ache spreading throughout his arm as he do so. He was fortunate that Addison was gone to his parents place for the week, so she didn't have to see his hand, or the state of mind he had been in that night for that matter. At the memory of that night, AJ's jaw clenched, out of habit, something only someone familiar with him would pick up, and he couldn't help the wave of frustration that washed over him. She just...drove him insane. Why couldn't she accept his apologies? Fuck it. Whatever. If she wanted to throw away their friendship, fine. He was sick of trying to fix it. He automatically clench the counter of the bar, more pain shooting up through his hand attempting to calm himself down. A voice from the bar momentarily caught his attention, and it was all the distraction he needed as it snapped him out of his trance, though not before a familiar face walked through his doors. Any and all previous thoughts about letting her go vanished from his head, just the sight of her enough to make him realize how much he truly cared for her. A fist slam on the counter as he spin around, finding a shot glass of his own, and taking a shot of tequila. The liquid burned as it went down, though he hid the disgust like a seasoned champ.
He ignored her as best he could, busying himself in his work, the bar full, as it normally was, flirting up a storm with some of the girls, though the burn of her being in his bar right now physically made him ill. How could they go around like this? As if they were strangers? He had known her for years, even when she moved away, they had written everyday, though the minute his life becomes busy, and she got put on the back burner because lo and behold, AJ had a daughter just dumped off at his doorstep. Not exactly something you should get all that pissed about. Well, sure, he could have at least kept in contact, but with Addison now in the picture, he had to try to shape up his life, and become a father. As he caught the sight of her again, he took note of her slightly staggering stance, watching as she pretty much downed another beer.
Lord help him, whatever possessed the boy the toss down his rag down and make a beeline for her table, was beyond him. As he drew nearer, his mind kept screaming at him, telling him to turn back around and go about your own business, though something else told him that she was his business. He stop right up close and personal, brow furrowed as the irritation grew on his face. "What the hell are you doing here?" he couldn't help but ask. This was Miami after all, and O'conners was no doubt a popular place, there were dozen of other choices for her to choose, so why here?
notes; i'm so sorry love that it's crappy. just wanted to get something up for you instead of keeping you waiting.

its not like she wanted to throw everything the had away. she understood that he had a daughter so his priorities changed, but that didnt mean he couldnt have sent her a letter stating what was going on. her father was killed for christ's sake, she was already a mess as it was. sitting there, alone in this crowded bar made her realize, she was more alone then ever. looking up she noticed aj standing at the bar, tending to it, flirting with girls. it was as if he was trying to rub it in her face. she laughed slightly and looked down at her drinking finishing the rest of it. she ordered another but when she looked up this time he was gone. she shrugged and waited for her drink. after it was delivered to her table she started on that one.
her solitude was interupted by a familiar voice. aj. he was harsh and pushy. what the hell was she doing here? she couldnt help but laugh, laugh right in his face. if you hadnt noticed its a free country my dear i can drink where i please when i please she nodded swallowing half of her beer. she looked at him after a moment and shrugged and if you must know i was supposed to be meeting someone here but he cant make it she would never tell him that she got stood up, it would jsut make her look bad.
