SOAK UP THE SUN ███ ███████████ ███ as a model, alec had his fair share of ladies during his lifetime. but, they usually consisted of mainly higher class types who were a bit conceited in themselves and their money. sure, they didn't have the brightest of attitudes, but they were always lookers. so, today, he had no earthly clue what he was supposed to do to get ready. he had multiple outfits laid out onto his bed, pacing back and forth as he eyes them. it was almost like he expected one to just float up and decide what he should wear for him. a while after moving here, he met a girl by the name of erin olivia price. right from the beginning, she had brought a peculiar sense of excitement in his life when she accidentally removed his towl and left him in the nude outside of their apartment complex.
he slowed his steps and chuckled to himself. erin was most defintely not like those other girls. in face, their date today was new to alec. she'd asked him to go walk her dogs for work with her. and this is where his problem lays. what exactly did one wear when going to walk dogs with a girl that you were pretty interested in. he'd been trying to drop some hints, but they must have been to subtle since she didn't seem to pick up on them. and of course, that made the chase all the funner. he grabbed some jeans and simple gray tee. he was just giong to go for casual and hope it went well. after making sure he was presentable and chose the right cologne to put on, he headed out. the thing about him being a model was that he always needed to make sure he looked presentable when he went out. he'd be caught dead before leaving his home looking like crap.
he walked around, following erin's directions to the part of the beach she would be at, stopping to ask for help from few people. he still wasn't very used to the place and walking made finding your way harder. he should have called for a taxi. finally, he managed to find his way and cursed at himself for being later than the time he had promised. shaking his head, he began to look around for her, figuring that he would be able to spot her easily. but before he could, something wet began to run along his hand. he blinked and turned, looking down at a panting dog who seemed to be smiling up at him. his eyes came up, seeing erin facing the other way. whoever said dogs weren't smart were stupid, because this one seemed to know who he had been looking for. "erin." he spoke her name softly, stepping closer to move in front of her. "sorry i'm late. i lost my way walking over." [/style] ███ ███████████ ███ 478 WORDS FOR ERIN

the past few weeks had been a big rushful blur for erin. a blue of excitement. after meeting jerome, or alec as he preferred everyone to call him, things were moving quickly and awkwardly. well for her life at least. things with alec were slow, slower then normal and for some reason, erin felt more awkward around him then anyone she had ever met. something baout him made her heart jump, made her feel like she couldnt speak, even breath sometimes. he was almost perfect. today, for a little different then their normal 'dates' erin asked him to come with her to walk her dogs, there was three and they were at least three times her size. being small had its advantages for erin, but when it came to dog walking, that wasnt one.
sitting on a towel in the middle of hte beach she held onto the leash that disconnected to three other leashes where each dog was hooked and rolling in the sand. she looked at the gold watch on her wrist and frowned, he was late. that wasnt usually like him so she knew there had to be something wrong. as she sat there it was unaware to her attention that one of the dogs broke free. looking up she felt the leash lighten and her heart sink. the actress's dog was gone. that was one hundred and fifty dollars gone. she stood up and looked down in the ocean for the large dog but felt a pressance around her. she looked next to her and it was alec. he was moving to stand in front of her and she followed him with her eyes, noticing the dog trailing behind him she smiled and looked at him. i knew something had to have come up she chuckled and bent down connecting the edog to the leash petting it. she stood up and looked at him, awkwardly. well. now what? SOAK UP THE SUN ███ ███████████ ███ alec smiled and looked at erin and watched as she got the dog back on the leash, chuckling. "i'm still trying to get used to the town. i wouldn't have made you wait if i knew my way here." so, alec was sued to reading girls and he was completely loving the fact that erin was coming off as awkward because he could tell she wasn't used to these things. he stepped closer and looked at her for a moment. "you look beautiful...as always." he began to look around, wondering what they should do. he came to accompany her during work so she wouldn't be walking alone. "i guess we can start walking the dogs, huh? how long is the walk supposed to be?" he glanced at her, shrugging his shoulders as if saying he hadn't been quite sure himself. "what way do you usually go?"
his phone vibrated in his pocket and he pulled it out, his lips thinning into a straight line when he saw it was his agent. "i'll be right back, erin. i'm sorry i have to get this." he turned and sighed, sliding his finger across the screen to answer the call. but just after a step, one of the dogs ran around him and circled around erin too. alec dropped his phone and fumbled with its footing as the leash tightened, pulling him to erin. "what th-" he turned quickly and his eyes widened, looking down at erin when they were pulled against each other by the dog. he blinked and laughed. "...i love these dogs." he smiled and placed his hand no erin's cheek, cupping it gently. "you're so peculiar, erin, unlike any girl i've ever liked." yeah, he liked her. a lot. his eyes trailed down, looking at her lips. he took a small breath before his hand slid behind her neck, leaning in slowly. he'd been dying to kiss her for a long while now, and thanks to a dog, he was finally getting the chance.

as the two of them stood there the world was slowing down and she felt it. she was trying her hardest not to be awkward, but that was who she was. she was different and she knew that. she was naive, gullible, awkward and clumsy. and for some odd reason, alec had given her the time of day. god he was gorgeous, he was a model and for some odd reason felt the need to want to be around her all the time. she felt herself stiffen as he stepped closer to her and looked at her. he complimented her and she looked down, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear smiling and feeling her face flush. when she looked back up she smiled at him. you clean up well, but im sure you get that alot she nodded at him, smile still present. when he questioned her about the walk she shrugged.
well usually i just take them for like a twenty minute walk then watch them for the rest of the day until their owner's pick them up from my apartment. she nodded, petting one of the dogs as it russled its head under the palm of her hand. she enjoyed her job, she really did but sometimes it was tiring trying to control three dogs that were two times her size. she chuckled at what it could have looked like. a tiny girl of her stature walking three huge dogs down a beach, but they were well trained and listened to her every command. as she stood there she looked at him. he was perfect, well in her eyes. he could have been molded by greek gods, even though he wasnt greek. but still, you get the idea.
when his phone buzzed erin felt her face frown a bit, and she didnt realize that this whole time she had been smiling, widely and obnoxiously. he had that effect on her. as they stood there and he told her he needed to take the call she looked down. she knew that being a model meant calls at all times of the day, especially from his agent. and she wanted him to do well, but she wanted his attention as well. but damn her for being so awkward. as he turned to leave the next few moments took her by surprise even. the next thing she knew, she was wrapped up in alec and the dogs were sitting there, mocking her, as if they were laughing. but dogs cant laugh. everything was happening so fast and erin didnt know what to do. she felt him cup her face in his hands and she closed her eyes. god he was perfect and she just wanted to stand in that moment forever.
when he leaned in to kiss her she felt herself getting queasy, she hadnt kissed him yet and for some reason it terrified her to do so. she felt as if he was going to kiss her and leave her. lead her on, just like every single man in her life. erin was terrified of commitment, because she was terrified of getting hurt. before he could even graze her lips she tried to wiggle out of the rope, not working she fell backwards, onto the sand. she let out a snort chuckle and closed her eyes, laying in the sand awkwardly. maybe she should have just laid there and died right now. |

SOAK UP THE SUN ███ ███████████ ███ alec closed his tyes the other half needed, and tilted his head as he neared erin. things seemed to be perfect and he was actually a bit nervous that she might not like how he would kiss her. he opened his eyes slowly and rose one of hs eyebrows, wondering what had happened. due to the fact that their legs were still tied together as she tried to move away, he couldn't get stable with all her struggling, making him fall over when she did as well. he looked at her as he made his way down, turning his body to the side so that he wouldn't fall on her. she was so small compared to him that he'd probably crush her if all his weight fell on her. he blinked a couple of times after he'd fallen, trying to see if what he thought had happened actually happened.
he brought up his arm above his head, his forearm resting over his eyes to shade him from the sun. and he just started to laugh. he couldn't help himself. this was the very first time something like this had ever happened and it was perfect. erin was perfect. she was the cutest thing he had ever seen. "...you are so adorable." he let out the last of his laughter before sitting up and untangling erin's legs from the ropes before working on his own. he rose to his feet arm wrapping around erin's waist to pull her up with him. "are you okay?" he began to pat her arms, rubbing off the sand that was stuck on her body. "you didn't hurt yourself did you?" he grinned and took her arms, quickly leaning in and pecking her cheek. if she wasn't ready for a kiss, he'd wait until she was.
"i'm sorry if it feels like i'm rushi-" the leash began to slide across the sand as the dogs began to run off. alec looked up at erin before the dogs. "..uh.." he froze for a moment then began to run after the dogs. so, things hadn't gone quitethe way he'd been hoping, but this was the time to impress her. damn, dogs were fast. or maybe it was that running on sand was difficult. alec hopped off his leg and dove forward, hand reaching out and capturing the leash. he slid a few more feet, the dogs pulling him across the sand until they decided to stop, his added wait to haul obviously a bother. so there he was, sand all over his body, breathing a bit above average. he sat up and looked at the dogs, letting out a long breath.
he chuckled and searched for erin, shaking his head. "i can honestly say that i have never been on a date like this before." he laughed, standing up. "what's next?" he walked over to her and handed her the leash. "does this sort of this happen often?" [/style] ███ ███████████ ███ 490 WORDS FOR ERIN

as they lay there next to one another she couldnt help but burst out into laughter. this was unbelievable. its not that she didnt want to kiss him, sure she wanted to do more with him then just that. but for some odd reason, she was terrified. she was terrified that by doing that, he would leave her. take what he wanted and leave her just like all the other guys in her life had done. she felt herself letting out a sigh as she propped herself up on her elbows, the warm sand moving underneath of her to frame around her small petite figure. she looked at him as he untangled her legs from the leash. thanks alec she smiled up at him and rested her hand on his large shoulder as he untangled himself. her small hand rested on his large shoulder made the world seem so small around them. even the slightest touch sent chills up her spine.
as he lifted her up with ease she couldnt help but giggle. he was so strong and lifting her looked and felt so simple. she looked at him and blinked realizing that the dogs had taken off. alec wait... she reached out to tell him to stop but he was already running after them. she felt herself closing her eyes, she could have just shaken the bag of treats in her purse and they would have came back. with a few seconds she heard a thud and opened her eyes, he was laying in the sand covered, holding onto the panting dogs. they seemed to be laughing as if they could. erin made a bee-line to alec stopping next to him and wiping the sand off of him as he stood up. i am so sorry, you didnt have to do that she rambled quickly dusting him off.
she admired his every inch and felt herself getting flushed in the cheeks as her hands rested on his arm muscles. when he handed her the leash she smiled and nodded. well i was thinking we could walk them and talk, and then maybe get some ice cream or something? she smirked up at him or we could walk them and then take them back to the apartment and order food, im starving she shrugged, either or was fine with her. |

SOAK UP THE SUN ███ ███████████ ███ wow, talk about a complete fail on alec's part. he had always been rather smooth, and was usually very good at impressing the ladies, but why was everything today seeming to go wrong. and then to make things worse, the damn dogs seemed to be mocking him as he layed there, covered and drowned in sand. his pride was deelpy hurt and alc felt that his manhood was slowly going to start and slip away if this day only continued to go as it has started. but then, maybe it wasn't all too bad, because very little time had passed and erin was by his sides, her hands patting down his shirt to clean him of the sand
and, maybe it was just his cocky self thinking, but he could have sworn he felt some slight squeezing on her part. he looked at her, in time to see her cheeks flush with a rosy shade. okay, he took it all back. if all of what had just happened was something he had to go through to see her blushing and looking at him the way she was now, he'd do it a hundred fold over. his eyes came to rest on the had that remained on his arm, grinning as he realized she wasn't cleaning anymore. it would be a lie if he said he didn't flex a little to give her something to feel. he listened to her and smiled, enjoying the idea od just going for a walk now that he was in a much better mood.
"depends on who's buying the ice cream." he turned to look at her, the grin he was offering obviously a sign to show that he was only messing with her. of course he would pay. not because he was rich, but because he was a gentleman and it was just the right thing to do. when she brought up another suggestion about ordering food and going back to her place, he just couldn't help but to want to tease her. "wow, you already want me to go to your apartment late at night?" he placed his hand over his chest, as if appalled. "wow, i must say erin, i'm rather scandalized, i- i don't know what to think..." he began to shake his head as if lost in what he was saying she had wanted. then he paused and turned to look at her, grinning. "i'm just playing, erin. it sounds perfect. i'll even be a good boy and be home early." he rose his hand and twisted his fingers awkwardly, never having been in boy scouts to learn the proper way. "you have my scout's honor." [/style] ███ ███████████ ███ 446 WORDS FOR ERIN

she couldnt lie, she loved every second that she spent with him. regardless of the fact that they were laying in the sand covered in it. she chuckled her blush away as she dusted him off. stopping only for a moment she could feel him flexing a bit and she smiled. she knew what he was doing, and she didnt even really mind. when they stood up she reprimanded the dogs and made them sit by her sides. she looked at him and smiled at all of him. he was perfect. the sun shining on him, he looked like a god. he was an australian god that was standing here with her right now. was this real life? part of her wanted to pinch herself, but she did not. letting out a flustered sigh she looked down and back up. for some reason when she was with him everything made her flustered, she was always so confused.
when he spoke of she laughed. well i hate to say but i didnt bring any money she winked at him. knowing that he was just messing with her, but what fun would it be if she didnt play along. guess ill make you wash their dishes to get us ice cream she poked him playfully and wrapped the leash around her wrist so the dogs couldnt run again. she started their walk, slowly of course, so that she could soak up as much time with him as possible. when they continued to speak of the nights events she couldnt help but laugh at his failed attempt to cross his fingers. she stopped walking and stood in front of him. reaching up she uncrossed his fingers and smiled you dont have to promise me anything, i believe you she held onto his hand for a moment before intertwining her fingers with his.
even just doing this slight motion sent chills up her arm down her spine. she continued to walk slowly with him and the dogs. she felt herself blush as she spoke well i wouldnt mind if you did stay late. she paused and smirked looking straight ahead trying her hardest not to be awkward. |

SOAK UP THE SUN ███ ███████████ ███ so, it could not be only alec who found erin getting after the dogs both humorous and super cute. they were probably taller than her if she stood, but even then, they listened to her command. he shrugged his shoulders and sighed. "if dishes is what i have to do for ice cream, pass me the gloves." he laughed, although in reality, this boy had never actually done dishes. since he moved to miami, he'd been buying nothing but paper plates and cups. he'd just never done it before and he didn't think he needed to when he could just buy disposables.
when erin began to walk, alec began to move at her pace, remaining by her side. he looked at his fingers, not really sure their arrangement seemed right. he had seen boy scouts do something on a movie, but...he didn't feel that he had gotten it quite right. his fingers just looked so...bent and weird. then, erin was behind the fingers he'd been examining, taking his hand into hers. so, he was a bit shocked. he wasn't prepared to have her make a move on him, so he wasn't quite sure what to think of this. he was just simply mindblown. he nodded like an idiot when she told him that she believed he would behave.
he tightened his hold around her hand, looking around and making an expression as if boasting to the world that he was finally starting to get somewhere with this girl. oh yeah, he felt like a pretty big badass right about now. then she spoke again. he stopped walking, frozen in place. if a gist of a wind too strong past, he was sure to fall over and shatter to pieces. he looked at her after a moment. she didn't mind if he stayed late at her place. he laughed, unable to contain tha joy that spread throughout his body. "whooo!" he cheered, pointing to some total stranger, smiling broad. "best day of my life, man!" the guy gave him a thumbs up and he circled an arm aroudn erin's small waist, beginning to pull her forward. he was loving walking dogs already.
