don't wanna lose what i live for, i'm willing to do whatever, cause i don't want to see you cry, cry, give our love another try, i bet we get it right this time~
It wasn't long after sending the last message of the chat that Cain found himself in his, their, red mustang, movie in hand. Though he also noticed that he hadn't started the car either, he was just sitting there. On the chat, things had been so playful and kind to start out with. It reminded him of all the good times they had laughing and smiling, hell, they had even flirted. But then things plummeted with one message. No matter though, Cain she still promised to come and he wasn't going to lie about that. Tightening his hands on the leather steering wheel and groaned and leaned his head against the seat rest. Things had been...different since she came to Miami, he couldn't help half the things he did around her. And the fact that she now actually wanted to know why he had cheated wasn't making anything easier. He was all for telling her the truth but things were so much simpler when she walked away, at least that way he hadn't had to look her in the face when her heart broke.
Relaxing and remembering in the first place what he was suppose to be doing, Cain turned the keys in the ignition and pulled out of his driveway. The drive, as must drives he had, was relaxing. Him and his cars. He just felt more at home behind the wheel then anywhere else, even compared to acting. Not that he would tell anyone about that, he'd simply say that driving was just a hobby. The windows were down so that the breeze created could brush inside the car, the coastal smell filling the interior. The drive wasn't long, it wasn't necessarily short either, but it was enjoyable. it was just going to be a casual visit, a friendly one; tabloids be damned. He hated those crappy things anyways, half of the shit was made up and the other half was just rubbish. People could just be friends without fucking; was that seriously hard to believe? Probably just made it worst that Izzy and him were ex-fiances.
Finally pulling up to her drive, he took a breath, pushing any harsh thoughts aside and exited the vehicle. The DVD case in his hand spun a few times as he walked up to the door and he rapped his knuckled against the wood to alert his presence. Even before the handle turned and the door opened a gracious smile slid to his lips and he was helpless to stop it. As the hinges of the frame had a fit, Cain looked at the crack made and cleared his throat when he saw Isabelle's face, "One cure for homesickness," lifting the movie so she could see it he continued, "check."

if i leave my heart with you tonight promise me that you're gonna treat it right. | Izzy sighed off the computer and shut it down, and then she went into the bathroom. She couldn’t even be bothered to put make up on, but she did put a bit of lip balm on. She didn’t care about wearing makeup. Yes she was a model, but when she wasn’t working she didn’t have to worry about all that. She wasn’t even bothering to change into something decent. This was Cain though; he had seen her looking worse. She even had taken her contacts out so she was wearing her glasses but she didn’t even care. It wasn’t like he hadn’t seen her that way before; in fact he had probably seen her that way more often than not since she really hadn’t bothered much in high school at all and she had picked up the nickname ‘zitty izzy’ that had kinda hurt, but she had always tried to rise above it and not let them get the better of her, plus she did not like confrontation, in fact she hated it, which was why it had been so much easier to mention that topic when she had spoken to him online, and regretted it. Yes she wanted to know why, but in some ways she actually didn’t.
Izzy smiled at the thought of having a movie night. Today she had just felt really homesick and she knew having her old friend might cheer her up. She kind of didn’t want to breach the topic of why he cheated, but she figured it may come up and she was ready for it if it did. After all, like she said to him....she deserved the truth. However she hadn’t given him a chance to explain, she had just thrown the ring at him and that was that....she’d not wanted to contact him or him to contact her. So why had she agreed to do what his father wanted to do? Well she kind of missed him, and wanted answers. It hadn’t been that bad when they first met and in the IM thread it had been so like old times, it had been playful and she’d missed that. They had even flirted a little which Izzy had been oblivious to like she usually was. Even now she still didn’t really know where the line was with flirting. Not that it was bad she was flirting; she’d had fun for sure.
She got the ice cream out of her freezer ready and then heard a knock at the door. She opened it and smiled seeing him there and then the DVD, her smile grew wider. She grabbed the DVD and put it on a table nearby Hey. Thanks for coming round and helping to cheer me up she smiled and leaned in to give him a quick hug. ice cream and channing is all I need to be happy again she smiled and then gave him a sweet look and I guess I could say you fall into that too... she said to him. so uh...do you want a drink? I have juice, soda....wine... she told him. I would have gotten some beer in if I’d had time she said with a smile. She then realised he was still in the doorway come in she gestured and stepped aside to let him passed her. He was looking fine, she had to admit, but she couldn’t think like that and resisted the urge to tell him so.
So, how’s the work going? she asked. She was kind of itching to carry on from the conversation they hadn’t finished when speaking online but she bottled out, sighing at herself for doing so. Maybe he would bring it up so they could just get it over with, it was bugging her now. If she was honest, she was kind of over it in a way. She had put it behind her anyway but she still wanted to know why he’d done it so she could put it behind completely. She wanted to move on, okay maybe she couldn’t quite move on in that sense, she knew there were some feelings there once again but she couldn’t act on them until she knew why he’d cheated in the first place, though chances were that she wouldn’t act on them anyway because she never made the first move and she never had.

Looking over her, Cain suddenly felt over dressed; not that his appearance was really important right now or anything since this was casual, but with her in more relaxed clothes and him in slightly more posh ones, he had the urge to messy his neat look up at at least fit the easy style better. While his attention was caught, the actor was barely aware that the DVD case had been slipped from his hands, it wasn't til he heard the faint clatter of plastic against the table did he shift his eyes and put his hands in his pockets, not knowing what eyes to do with them. As she thanked him, he just smiles dashingly and shrugged his shoulders, it was no big deal, he was happy to save the day. The hug he hadn't really been expecting but it didn't feel odd or uncomfortable. In fact, there was no hesitation what so ever in the way they moved and embraced then broke apart. He even kept a smile on his face once she said that ice cream and Channing Tatum was all she needed, he utilize his acting skill for that one, he didn't think that her seeing him unhappy was the best of things right now. But it faded to genuine as she continued to include him. He still wasn't the biggest fan of Channing Tatum, the man was till higher up on the list then Cain seemed to be. That would have to be fixed.
He shifted on his feet, still standing outside, not really going to push through and invite himself in. he had manners and he could use them. So he could wait til she ushered him inside. But even moment he stood outside of the door, he was sure someone with a camera was going to snatch a couple of shots at how comfortable him and Izzy looked in each others presence. A chuckle slipped from his lips as she dusted over the topic of drinks. However, when he heard her voice pick up on wine and the option of other alcohol, an eyebrow arch in in curiosity. "Are you just trying to get me drunk, Izzy?" he said playfully, shaking his head at her as he finally stepped past her and into her Miami home.
As he stepped around the welcoming area, he looked around finding the interior quite her style as he subconsciously slid his thin jacket from his shoulders, revealing a button up shirt that was already unbuttoned in the top few buttons. Hooking the outer layer on a nearby hanger he spun on his heels to face her, lifting his head to hear her question as he rolled up the sleeves of his shirt, deciding to fall into her more relaxed feeling. "Well, we finished filming the season finale a few days ago," one shoe slipped off, "so now I have some free time till I have to really get back into it," the other shoe came off and he nudged them with his foot towards the wall. His green gaze shifted back to her and he grinned slightly lopsided, as he made the already flimsy collar of his shirt stick up a bit more. That was much more comfortable, and much more casual. And much more ready to watch a movie.
He watched her for a moment then let a low, nearly purring chuckle rumble his chest, "I can strip for you if you want Izzy but I thought I was here for a movie, not a booty call." With a amused glint in his eye, he walked passed her and wondered into the living room, where the TV was mounted hen he flopped down on the couch, spreading himself from one arm rest to the next, head resting at one end, feet at the other. His dark hair already messy up, Cain leaned his head back against the fabric to look back at his friend with a smile filled with good memory, "Am I going to have to carry you over to the couch too, or can you walk by yourself this time?"

if i leave my heart with you tonight promise me that you're gonna treat it right. | She looked at him and bit her lip, he was dressed way better than him, and he’d actually made an effort. She felt bad now and needed to apologise. Normally she would be wearing something classy and sophisticated, but because she had been feeling miserable it hadn’t really made her want to dress up. Well don’t you look smart she smiled. I’m sorry I don’t look my best, she said I’ve just been having a really off day today she said with a nod. You look good though! she said casually. Friends could say that right? Well she said it to her friends, it didn’t matter whether most of her friends were female or not, it could be something said causally among friends. Whatever, she wasn’t going to waste anymore time thinking about it since she didn’t care that much, maybe she did mean it more than friends, but she surely wasn’t going to admit that was she? If there was any hope of the two of them getting back together, Izzy wasn’t going to make it easy even if she wanted it herself. He wanted to make him work for it, and anyway, she wasn’t a girl who made it easy in the first place.
When she heard his comment about getting him drunk, she laughed. Well that was an idea she hadn’t actually thought of...She then smiled and gave him a look Yes, that’s exactly my plan. I want to get you drunk so I can have my way with you... she said giving him a wink. Of course she was joking, though, she just hoped she hadn’t crossed the line with it. Although they were used to being flirty with each other, more so than right now, but that had changed hadn’t it? She didn’t know...Her tone was sarcastic but she couldn’t help but laugh at the thought. Normally it was guys who were doing that to her. She was so used to it but she wasn’t a big drinker so it hardly ever happened. She wasn’t even a massive party girl, even if she did go out quite a lot when she was in different locations, and especially in LA. It was only because her friends went partying that she went with them. She much preferred to have a night in, but don’t get her wrong, she did like to party, she just preferred it in classy environments as appose to a not so great club.
Well that’s good right? More time to hang out with me she said with a playful smile. If she was flirting, Izzy probably wasn’t aware most of the time, but maybe this time she was aware, well she had done a little on purpose, but she may not have been aware of HOW flirty she was being and because of that, it wasn’t really bothering her. You didn’t answer me about the drink she smirked at him, remembering that he’d asked if she was trying to get him drunk, but not actually answered what he wanted. She stood there watching him as he made himself look more casual. He must have noticed because her cheeks went bright red as she blushed and covered them with her hands. Of course though she had to come up with a good come back. Hmm, well since seeing Channing in Magic Mike i’d rather have him strip for me but you can try she said. Not usually what she would say to a guy but this wasn’t just any guy, it was Cain, and he was the only guy she had ever felt that comfortable with. But as tempting as the idea of a ‘booty call’ is, I think I’d rather watch the movie she smirked.
She then rolled her eyes at his comment and got the movie and ice cream as well as two spoons, then walked over to him and sat right on him, since he was taking up the whole length of the couch. She bit her lip, okay she was just going to ask, it would get it out of the way and maybe she could just get it out of her head completely, instead of always wondering why he had done it. So, you were going to tell me why you cheated? she raised an eyebrow at him and taking the spoon to get some ice cream. and while you’re at it, you should tell me what you were talking about to tempt you, you know, in case I ever have to use it she said with a smile. She was trying to make it friendly as appose to her being upset about it.

don't wanna lose what i live for, i'm willing to do whatever, cause i don't want to see you cry, cry, give our love another try, i bet we get it right this time~
It certainly hadn't been one of the replies that he was expecting. He knew by her tone that she was joking but that didn't make her reply any less surprising. Just the idea of her having her way with him rendered him speechless. Cain just gaped for a split second at her. He knew what the old Izzy was capability of but not this slightly different Izzy. This isn't what he was here for though, but damn it she had him curious. Distracting himself, he nodded. Not that he had a break from filming did mean he could he had more free time, which did give him more of a chance to see her. Though he still had events to attend and interviews to sit through every now and then.
He really wasn't the biggest fan of Channing Tatum any more. It seemed in Izzy's mind nothing could compare to that man. Cain had met the actor a few times, nothing where they had a decent length conversation, but he was alright enough. Though now the twenty-four year old star only seemed to want to hit him. Cain never thought himself to be a jealous man, but the two words 'Channing' and 'Tatum' were starting to irk him. And not living up to the standards that the more experienced actor seemed to set, definitely wasn't helping his mind set. relaxing on the couch did help a lot, however. Just the cushions were enough to him exhale a contently. Or at least it lasted that way until Izzy sat on his abdomen. At first he laughed at the fact that she hadn't even bothered to move him, she just perched herself right on top. The her words cut him off. Cain heard 'cheated' and his mouth immediately shut, green eyes locking on hers as she continued. Though, he didn't what else she wanted to know passed why he cheated, his mind just shut the rest out. He had told her that if she asked why, he'd tell her the truth. Well, she had just asked.
"I got scared." He said without even looking way from her gaze that had him locked the moment she asked, "And before you say anything, please, hear me out."he wanted to make sure he got what he wanted to say out and in th air before she responded. Bracing his hands on the cushion of the sofa, he pushed himself into a sitting position, causing Izzy to slid into a spot on his lap as he rested his back against the arm of the couch. Taking a breath, Cain continued, "I wasn't afraid of commitment or anything stupid like that; I was scared that I wouldn't be good enough." the expression on his face was soft and it was hard to meet her gaze, but he forced himself to, "It's stupid when I say it out loud but it's true. I've modeled my life around the idea that I have to impress people. When I was young back in L.A. my father wanted me to live up to his exceptions and he was the hardest man ever to make proud. So, I bottled that need to impress him down and moved on with my life. And the career I, at the time, was just starting to get into was about impressing a handful of people in auditions, I bottle down the nerves of not being good enough away. But," it was hard to tell what she thought of him now as he found a small spot to hesitate in before swallowing and continuing, "but, when it came to the one thing that I could control in my life, my marriage to you, well, all the fear of not being good enough came tumbling back." Some Time during part of his speech, one of his hands and reached up to smooth and twirl some of her brunette hair through his fingers. Exhaling, his shoulders sloped, "I cheated because for one night, I didn't have to worry about impressing anyone, I could just be myself without fear."
If Cain where to be completely honest, a complete open book, then he would admit that his fear of not being good enough had started when his father stopped smiling at his own nine year old son. But there, he'd told her the truth and now he really didn't feel like watching a movie. He wanted back in his car.

if i leave my heart with you tonight promise me that you're gonna treat it right. | Izzy didn't expect a response with what she had said to him, she'd been joking so there really was no need. She liked the playfulness that they had adapted with each other,it was fun, and honestly had her at ease. It was refreshing that they still seemed to be the way they were with each other, maybe a bit different but nothing much had changed, after everything. Deep down she was still the same girl that she had used to be, okay maybe not completely, she had become more confident for sure, but she still loved playing video games, star wars, all the nerdy kinda stuff but being a model it wasn't really what people wanted to hear, so she never mentioned it. She wasn't a different Izzy all together she was just new and improved. She had gotten rid of her spots, even though she still had scars, and still had contacts, although tonight she didn't because she hadn't been bothered to put any in that morning. She just didn't really care all that much today. Missing home was something that izzy was prone to. Even when she lived in LA and went to college, staying in the dorms she made sure to come home more often than staying in the dorms. She had found it hard to make friends at first but somehow eventually managed it. Now here she was in Miami, today had been one of the worst days for her, since it was her mothers birthday.
The conversation took a turn and onto why he cheated. He got scared? Scared of what? He asked her to hear him out, so she would, after all, she had asked in the first place. It would be weird if she hadn't let him continue. As he moved back on the couch and she took place on his lap, she didn't move, just looked up at him, looking for answers. They had known each other for way too long to be scared of marriage. But then he explained it wasn't marriage. Her eyes widened when he said he was scared he wasn't good enough. She put the ice cream down and then spoke Not good enough for me? she answered quietly but how....why....I don't understand... She then let him continue, listened to him say how he could never do anything to impress his father, to be good enough for him. She thought for a moment. When they announced their engagement, he had greeted her with open arms. As had all the family, he had always seen her as one of the family, which was why he had asked her to be the one who could bring him back to LA. recently she had been dodging his calls, and now this confirmed it, she wouldn't have anything more to do with it. He had even offered her money at the end of it, when she brought him home but Izzy had declined that, one for being immoral and two because she simply didn't need the money.
She actually felt like crying. She felt bad because she hadn't let him explain. She felt tears running down her cheeks. Sure, he had been the one who cheated and messed up what could have been their marriage but she had walked away, he hadn't done it to hurt her or because he'd got propositioned, there was an actual reason. She looked down at the floor for a moment and then back up to touch his face. You never had to worry about not being good enough for me she told him. You already had me okay so maybe it was a little too late for her to say that but it was true. I wasn't going anywhere she smiled and moved her hand away. They do say that you never get over your first love though.... she said with a smile. She could tell him how she had only had one relationship since they broke up. And that had ended because she hadn't been able to say 'I love you.' Honestly, she couldn't and he clearly wanted more from the relationship. It hadn't lasted that long either, because she wasn't willing to sleep with him. Basically he got sick of waiting....and not being able to say those three words. He'd loved her and she'd hurt him. Thinking about it she looked up at him and turned herself to be facing him more, she then wrapped her arms round his neck and leaned forward to press her lips on his and kissed him. It didn't last for very long because she stopped herself and pulled away, feeling disappointed with herself. He probably had a girlfriend and she'd just kissed him, she'd made him cheat again, she was just a horrible person! I'm so sorry, I...I don't know what I was thinking..... she stuttered. Did she really want to be with him? She had no idea, and even if the answer was yes, she wanted things to be different than this. Her mind wasn't on the movie so much anymore, or Channing.

don't wanna lose what i live for, i'm willing to do whatever, cause i don't want to see you cry, cry, give our love another try, i bet we get it right this time~
The length of his life he had known Isabelle, which was definitely enough time to know that she probably felt bad about something when he finished talking. Now, Cain wasn’t exactly sure what the thing was that she was going to feel sorry over; he just knew that it was going to happen over something. And he wasn’t going to ask about it since it would only probably make things worse. He did, however, keep his eyes on her; not once did he flick his eyes to look away, no matter how much he wanted too. The little rims of liquid around her eye lids were shimmering and he tried not to be distracted by them. When she delicately touched his face, involuntarily his eyes tried to look at the lingering feel but her words brought him out of it and he looked back her brown eyes. Surprisingly, or maybe unsurprisingly, what she said didn’t really make him feel any better or really any different.
He’d had three years to deal with it. And he had; for the most part. She was trying to make him not feel so bad, he could tell. But it wasn’t just the fact that he cheated; it was that he cheated that he proved himself right. That he hadn’t been good enough. For if he had, he wouldn’t have gotten in bed with some other women in the first place. Maybe that part Izzy didn’t understand, but Cain did completely. He figured he’d have to make that point clear to her, but before he even could bother opening his mouth she moved her and away and softly mentioned that first loves are hard to get over. That was new. One of his eyebrows perked up at her in lengthening silence as green eyes searched her face, noticing all the small emotions just under the surface. She looked like she needed to say something, but wasn’t completely sure if she wanted too or not. He probably should have taken that as a sign to break the silence, he also should have taken her looping her hands around his neck as a sign too. But he didn’t. Even when she leaned forward he didn’t. Next thing, her lips her on his; though the kiss hadn’t lasted more then a second, just as Cain felt that he was going to lean back against her, she pulled away. And he just sat there with a far off look in his eyes. “Uh…yeah, it’s, um it’s fine…” the trouble was to find the words, what made it worse was the fact that he had flashes of those feelings from three years ago. Three years. He’d thought he’d forgotten about them.
Clearing his throat and blinking his eyes to get himself out of the small daze, the actor became more aware of their position on the couch. Looking down between them, their casual had suddenly become personal. She was till sitting across his lap, her arms, even though she had pulled back slightly were still around his neck and apparently somewhere in the middle of all that his hand had adopted a position, one draped across her legs, the other resting on the top edge of the couch. "So," his attention trailed back up to look at her expression, his fingers tapping the couch as he continued "where are we at now?" A small smile brought up his lips, but the buzz she left from kissing him, however brief it was, was still there as he lifted is hand from the couch to twirl his fingers through some of her hair again, watching his hand with a somewhat far off look rather then her face, "I mean, are we both still good or after finding the truth do you just want to kick me out?" He wasn't against getting close to her again but part of his mind wouldn't let him forget that she was his best friend, so they probably both needed time just to straighten their own heads out before they opened that door together again.

if i leave my heart with you tonight promise me that you're gonna treat it right. | Izzy knew that it was probably shocking for him, unexpected...after all, she never usually made the first move like that but something had pushed her to do so, for some reason it had felt right. She wanted to ask whether he had a girlfriend but she didn’t know how, and the fact that he was more speechless than freaking out over the fact she had kissed him probably gave her the answer. She couldn’t deny though that the kiss had brought back the feelings she’d had for him. Even if she had kind of forgotten them, they had never really gone away....well they had done when he told her she’d cheated, but the fact that it had taken her a while to find someone else had been a reflection on how she’d really felt. She just wished that she had let him explain all that in the first place, maybe they would be together still, or maybe they wouldn’t have...who knows, and she would never know but she couldn’t help but wonder, and she didn’t like the feeling of not knowing. She could think all she wanted but she would never actually know, there was no way to really know how they would have been.
She hadn’t even noticed that she was still sitting across his lap, and that his arms were still around him. She moved her arms down but didn’t move herself from his lap, she felt comfortable there and as long as he didn’t kick her off she would probably stay there. At his next question she didn’t know what he meant fully and tilted her head to the side. He then went into more detail. Well she definitely did not want to kick him out, that was for sure. She had been the one to ask the question so she needed to deal with it. If she had asked three years ago maybe none of this would be happening right now. Izzy knew that knowing the truth had changed things, but not in a bad sense. She was no longer going to involve herself with his father for one. She didn’t want his money and she certainly didn’t think Cain should go back to him now. She just hoped that she could avoid him and not have it brought up, especially not with Cain around. She didn’t want him to know that was the reason she had come to Miami in the first place, he might think that her being here was all a game to get back at him and mess with his head. That was so far from the truth, and if he knew her as well as she thought he did, he would know that she would never do that to him. Yes, she had been angry but she had never been a revenge kind of person.
You don’t have to leave she told him I don’t want you too she added. But I guess if you want to... she didn’t really want to give him the option, but she had told him that she didn’t want him to leave. Maybe she would just make sure he wouldn’t leave by tempting him with ice cream. She finally moved off his lap and leaned over to get the ice cream and the two spoons, passing one to him. She took the lid off. By now it was fairly soft, luckily there wasn’t that much left so they could finish it and she didn’t have to put it back in the freezer as it wouldn’t taste as good. She dug her spoon into the tub again and took a big chunk. Ice cream makes everything better she smiled at least for girls it does she said with a smile. She recalled those moments in high school where she had just sat in her room with a tub of ice cream because she hadn’t been invited to the cool parties, or when it had all blown up with him. She picked up the DVD and looked at the back of it, reading the information. You know, we don’t have to watch this if you really don’t want. I think I might have some movies that aren't so girlie in my collection she told him. Somehow she could tell that he wasn’t so keen on Channing Tatum, whether they’d had some kind of run in or it was because she mentioned him a lot she didn’t actually know, but at least she was now giving him the option. Actually I think I TiVoed your show the other day she grinned at him. Things didn’t necessarily need to be made less awkward, but she needed to cheer him up, she knew it couldn’t have been easy him telling her all that, even if they were best friends. Or we could just talk?
