if i leave my heart with you tonight promise me that you're gonna treat it right. | It had been a long, long night at work and Reagan was ready to scream. Between the guys at the club doing what they weren't allowed to do, i.e. touching the girls, and then being rude to her when she didn't get their drink ready right away, she was ready to scream. It was still pretty early in the morning, sunrise was a few hours ago but it was still nice and bright out. Her camera was in hand so she could take pictures of the pier and marina as it slowly came to life in hopes of taking her mind off of her crappy night. Not to mention she had had an argument with her dad before leaving for work so that was still on her mind. Her parents and her didn't always get along that well, actually it was just her and her mother since Reagan hated the whim of a thought of that woman. Her father at least said he loved Reagan, her mother loathed Reagan's existence.
Taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly, she just let her back round so she kind of relaxed. She had only worn a vest and tight jeans to work the night before so the sweatshirt she had on wasn't very covering...or warm. It didn't matter, she wasn't going home yet until she was sure her dad was gone and she could prepare for the hell that was to follow their argument. Although, knowing her dad it wouldn't be so bad because he usually got over things really, really fast. Rea would probably be asleep when he got home anyway but thankfully she was off tonight and wouldn't have to get up to go in. Her short legs hung off the side of the dock as her eyes followed a yacht roll by and she remembered she could probably take her fathers yacht out. Ha. Not today. Maybe tomorrow, that would be a nice day trip but there weren't many people out there in Miami that would want to go with her on the boat. Maybe she could ask Cole...who knew.

Being in a coma could really put things into perspective and for Cole, nearly losing his life certainly had. The boy who’d been dead set on going to college and making something of himself that way, had gone from being eyebrow deep in every book he could get his hands on – except karma sutra books since his innocent little brain couldn’t handle that – to renting a surf board and deciding to try out the waves. This lifestyle change was easier said than done though. He may have purchased surfing for dummies and read it cover to cover but Cole wasn’t confident enough to join the other early morning surfers. This was the third day in a row that Cole applied sunscreen to his olive skin, pulled on his swim trunks and sat on his rental, staring out at the sea.
Sighing as some surfers mocked him a little, Cole collected his things and returned his glasses to his face. Each day he came out and watched, they teased him and while this was nothing new for Cole, it was disheartening. Returning the board unused for the third day in a row, Cole’s eyes caught sight of movement and he looked up to see a familiar face. Smile spreading across his lips, Cole tugged on his tank top and went over to her. ”Rea..hey.” He said, waving awkwardly.”Hi.” He stumbled through a proper greeting.

If she let her mind run away like it was she would be a crazy mess about everything. Literally she'd lose her mind until she got herself under control...which tended to be like three days after she went off the deep end. Maybe her job was getting a little too tolling with the amount of jerks that had been passing through the club and really irritating her near to death. But maybe she just needed to relax her mind and not hold an expectation of the men who came through the heavy oak doors.
Her mind had wondered off a bit more when someone's voice broke her concentration, eyes moving to reveal the cutie Cole in her vision. Just who she needed to see to have a good day. A smile lifted her lips and she patted the pier beside her. "Hi there, Cole. Come sit with me," she began to swing her legs again, the water just catching her toes a bit. "Sorry if I smell disgusting, I haven't gone home after work yet so I still smell like cigarettes and booze."
